Set Your Mind On Peace

“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.” Colossians 3:15

Have you ever taken a moment to pause and notice your thoughts? We have the unique ability to observe our own thinking through the power of the mind.

Regardless of what is happening in the world around us, we have the ability to choose to believe God’s promises of peace and fight against fear. We can be led by the Holy Spirit and walk in confidence, knowing that we can trust in God. We can react in love and from a deep place of security, which improves our relationships and our physical and mental health, even in the most difficult situations.

The next time you are feeling overwhelmed, instead of running directly to your favorite distraction, take a deep breath and take a moment to observe your thoughts. Remind yourself of the verse above, and choose to stand firm in the Lord’s promise of peace.

Dear Heavenly Father,

You are so good and so faithful. Thank you for giving us the gift to be able observe our own thoughts. I ask that You alone will be who I listen to in my mind. Please help me to choose to believe your promises even when things are hard.

Amen.
