My Go-To Morning Smoothie

I have about three or four favorite breakfasts I rotate through, and this smoothie is at the top of my list!

It always helps my tummy feel good, and it gives me what I need to feel focused for the day. Plus, it’s full of antioxidants and protein!

Ingredients:

  • 1/4—1/2 cup full fat, grass-fed milk (or dairy alternative of choice)

  • 3 frozen strawberries

  • 1/4 cup mix of blueberries, raspberries and blackberries (fresh or frozen)

  • 1/2 banana

  • 1 scoop protein powder (I use 1st Phorm’s chocolate milkshake.)*

  • For a healthy fat option, you can put in 1/2 Tbsp of coconut oil, or you can take your fish oil supplement with the shake.

Directions:

  1. Pour the milk into a Magic Bullet, Vita Mix or whatever blender/mixer you would like. (I love to use a single-cup mixer because I drink straight from the mixing cup.)

  2. Add the protein powder and fruit, and then mix/blend for about 30—60 seconds or until the smoothie reaches your desired consistency.

  3. Pour into a cup, and enjoy!

*Ideally, you want 18—25 grams of protein from your protein powder. If you do not want to use protein powder for dietary reasons, feel free to substitute full-fat Greek yogurt.
